Motorbikes Technical Details and Know how | Motorcycle specs / Specifications

This post will keep you updated on all the technical details and Jargon that we all know as a word and the actual working.

The post will also Focus on the latest technologies used in the latest motorcycles and of possible with their Release dates and Trademark Technology.

1. Digital Twin Spark ignition engine:

This technology was first introduced in India by Bajaj Motorcycles India. Bajaj Auto named is as DTS-i(Digital Twin Spark Ignition). It ensures improved Fuel economy and emission. This was developed specifically for small-bore, Four-stroke engines with two valves.

How does this work:

In this technique 2 spark plug are placed Diametrically opposite to each other in the combustion chamber and they fire simultaneously igniting the charge. Simultaneously firing ensures better Fuel Economy and reduced Engine emissions.

Initially when the concept was introduced it was successfully launched on its two products Pulsar 150cc and Pulsar 180cc engines and they were named as 150cc DTS-i and 180cc DTS-i.

The DTS-i concept allows the compression ratio of the engine to be increased from 9.65 to 9.85. At part-load conditions (Indian Driving cycle) the DTS-i technology allows the engine to run leaner at a lambda of 1.2 with excellent stability. On a bore size of 57 mm (150 DTS-i) the maximum flame travel length was reduced by 18%. The power, torque and specific output per liter were increased, while the fuel consumption and emissions were reduced due to the rapid combustion brought about by the twin spark plugs.

Fuel Prizes in India:

As per the latest news Government of india said that India should adjust fuel prices to reflect the cost of global crude. It says that the country imports almost 75% of the of the oil consumed.

"Domestic prices of gasoline and diesel have to be broadly in sync with global prices of these items" said by finance Minister Pranab Mukherji. He also told" the government will setup an expert group to advise on the viable and sustainable system of pricing petroleum products."

Oil Minister Murli Deora sad "he plans to seek cabinet approval within six weeks to free up fuel prices from state control.

No one knows what will happen to the Indian markets as government has no control and it seems like government tends to follow the trends set by western countries in almost all the fields. For example if western share market goes up they asian share markets goes up and it falls down we also face a heavy loss. So forget it and enjoy Riding.
